Nars Sheerglow : Holy Grail Foundation?

Hello! So along with everyone else and their mothers I am going to be doing a review of the Nars Sheerglow Foundation! This had been on my wishlist for ages, I bought the shade Mont Blanc, I was tempted with the lighter shade but decided to go with this one which I think was the better choice. I have to admit, when I first tried this all I thought was 'meh.' This is something that happens with all foundations I try though, I always use them for a while and don't know how I feel about them. I then come back to them after a while and either really love them or I don't. After using this for about two weeks I decided to switch to a different foundation, then I came back to it and can honestly say...I am loving it.

Although the name may suggest otherwise this foundation is not 'sheer' or 'glow(y)' so I'm not entirely sure why it's called that! I would say the coverage is medium and it is more on the matte side rather than dewy! Although I have quite dry skin so this is probably different on an oily skin. I have found the best way to apply it on my skin is using the Real Techniques Buffing Brush. I tried using my hands, the Real Techniques Stippling brush and a Beauty Blender but the Buffing Brush just worked the best out of all of them! This foundation is one of hardly any foundations that covers my scars and blemishes well without looking cakey, I also find on my skin that after applying foundation, concealer and power my skin can look a little 'overdone' however I haven't found this at all with this foundation, on top I like using the Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural and overall I love the finish these products give together.

Overall I am loving this foundation and it is definitely one of my favourites I've ever tried, it has enough coverage to make my skin look flawless without making it cakey!

Have you ever tried Nars Sheerglow? What were your thoughts?

My Everyday Makeup

Hello! I thought I would show you what I have been wearing on my face lately, I haven't done a post like this is quite a while and the products I have been using have changed a lot recently!
The foundation I have been using recently is the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in the shade Mont Blanc. I have a review coming up on this soon so I'm not going to talk about it too much, but I am really loving it! I have tried a number of different concealers but I always come back to the infamous Collection (2000) Lasting Perfection Concealer, I use this under my eyes and on blemishes and it works brilliantly for both. This is definitely an item I am going to keep using and I haven't bought a new concealer in ages since getting this one! The power I have been using is the Mac MSF Natural in Light Plus, I did a full review here so you can read about it in detail there. I recently bought my first Nars Blusher! I finally decided on the shade Deep Throat, it took me ages browsing the website and reading reviews on blogs for me to decide on which I was going to buy! I still have Nico, Gina, Amour, Sin and Orgasm on my wishlist as I am really loving this blusher!
On my eyes I have only been using the Urban Decay Naked Palette, since I got this eight weeks ago I have used nothing else on my eyes! I also use the shade "Creep" as a liner! You can see a full review here. On my brows I have been using the Soap and Glory Archery in Love is Blonde, I bought this fairly recently as I was struggling to find a brow product light enough for my brows! The mascara I have been using is the Revlon Grow Luscious, I really like this mascara although the brush is a lot bigger than I am used to! Finally, the lip product I have been reaching for is the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish, this shade is a beautiful pink colour and it is great to just put on when I'm out and about!

Bow Hair Clips from Beauxoxo!

Hello! I thought I would show you some beautiful hair bows I bought recently from Beauxoxo. I have had my eye on these for a while and it was so hard to choose which ones to buy! In the end I went with kaleidoscopic and lavender. I am really happy with the two I bought but now I want more! They are so beautiful and I keep getting compliments from people and being asked where they are from! I think I'm going to have to stop myself buying one in every colour! These would be such a perfect gift for any girly girl like myself as they really make your hair look super pretty!

I have seen other bows that are just too small and some that are huge, these are the perfect size. The glitter does not shed and the clip on the back is very secure and easy to put in your hair. The packaging these arrived in was so cute! I would have taken a photo but Phoebe got her hands on it before I could and proceeded to try and eat the tissue paper! There were also a pack of mini eggs and love hearts in the package (which Phoebe stole too) which was really cute!

If you would like your own bow (or any other hair accessory! They have so many different things to choose from on their website, so there really is something for everyone!) you can use the code LIVELAUGHLIPSTICK to get 10% off your order! I would totally recommend you check out the site!

Mac MSF Natural

Hello! Today I'm going to review the Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, I have been using it for about six weeks and can safely say I love it! I am NC20 and I decided to go with the shade 'Light Plus.' I had googled and researched beforehand and a few people said to go with 'Medium' but when I was in the store this shade seemed to match my skin perfectly. Although I get dry skin I like a matte finish, I started by using a Real Techniques Powder Brush with this however I seemed to get a very cakey face and too much powder was being applied bearing in mind my skin is dry! However I have found that using a sponge works well! I have a large pack from Superdrug, they are basically flat sponges. I just put some product onto the sponge and then press it onto my skin, I found that the powder brush I was originally using was quite dense and would move some of the concealer around a bit, so gently pressing the powder on was a much better way!

This powder is not heavy like many others I have tried, it blends in to the skin and doesn't cling to any dry patches. I haven't used this on its own but I have heard that it works well on 'good skin days' on its own! As I said, I have been using this for about six weeks, the dome shape has hardly dented and I can tell that it is going to last ages!

Have you ever tried the MSF natural?

Birthday Wishlist!

In three weeks I turn 18 and I thought I would show you what is on my birthday wishlist!
My Mum always said to me that for my 18th I could get a handbag, this is extremely expensive so if I get it I will put money towards it too! I think the Baywater is a classic, I love tan bags as I think they look chic and go with every outfit!

2. Pandora Ring
I have wanted Pandora rings for ages! I have decided to pick out a few and ask people to get me one each, I would wear them stacked on top of each other which is something I do a lot with my rings. Although this ring is actually a birthstone ring for the month of May I really like the colour of the stone!

3. Michael Kors Watch
I already have the small rose gold watch from Michael Kors but would really like a silver one to wear when I am wearing silver jewellery!

4. Stella by Stella McCartney
This is my go-to perfume, I absolutely love it! I got some for Christmas but I always ask for perfume at birthdays and at christmas so I am stocked up!

5. Tamron Lens
I just have the standard lens that came with my camera, I used to have a Panasonic Lumix camera and the zoom was amazing! When I got my Canon I was a bit disappointed that the zoom was a bit rubbish! So I would love a new lens for it!

I am still undecided what to actually do on my birthday! I am thinking of going to a spa for the day but if you guys have any ideas please leave a comment as I am struggling to think of things to do!

TAG : Confessions of a Blogger

Hello! I have seen the 'Confessions of a blogger' tag on a few different blogs so I thought I would do it too!

When did you start your blog?
I started this blog in May 2012, I previously had another blog which was awful as I had no clue about how to write posts and take photos properly! I'm glad I took the time to learn about html and persisted with this blog!

Have you had any past online presence before (Other blog, YouTube)?
As I said above I had one blog before this one, I have considered youtube for a while but at this point in time I am not confident enough to put myself out there, I think you have to have quite a thick skin to do youtube and be quite secure about yourself! If I got the negative comments I see some people get I would not be able to deal with it!

Why did you start a blog?
I can't remember the exact reason I started my first blog, I think it was just because I had read blogs for a while and thought it would be fun. After I stopped my first blog I kept wanting to start again, I was walking behind a girl in the street once who was talking about her blog and I just knew that I really wanted to give it a go again!

When did you become serious about starting a blog?
I'm not really 'serious' about blogging, I do it because I enjoy it and to be honest if I didn't get the feedback I did from others I probably wouldn't still do it, getting nice comments motivates me to carry on!

What was your first post?
I think my first post was an outfit of the day! I'm not sure if it's still up or if I deleted it! I actually HATE the dress I am wearing in the post!

What has been your biggest challenge about blogging?
I luckily haven't had any negative comments thank god! But sometimes it gets quite hard blogging when I don't feel like it. I feel bad if I don't post as often and I often compare myself to others, I think I just need to get over the fact that everyones blog is different and everyone has different strengths!

Where do you see your blog in one year?
I definitely see myself carrying on with blogging, I would love to have reached 1000 followers in a year! I don't really mind where it goes though, as long as I am still enjoying it and you are all enjoying reading it still that's all that matters!

What is the most rewarding thing to you about blogging?
This is 100% the other people, I have found so many amazing bloggers that I consider my friends. I think I started my blog at a good point, I was feeling very alone and it was so lovely to meet people who had the same interests as me. I also love getting comments, even if someone was to just write "hi!" on a post, I would still appreciate it so much! Blogging has really made me more confident as I get some lovely comments that make me feel so much better about myself!

What is the most discouraging thing that happens to you?
I think when I don't get that many comments on a post I think people didn't enjoy the post! I am very hard on myself, I constantly compare my blog to others which isn't good to do!

What's your lasting inspiration or motivation?
I always get inspired by others, the way other people design their blog or how they write their posts! I also love reading blogs as it inspires me in terms of the way I dress, if I ever buy something I google for outfit of the day posts and see how others wear it to get outfit inspiration!

I hope you enjoyed this post, as always I tag everyone!

Hi everyone! I thought I would show you all an illustration the lovely Robyn did for me! I love it so much that it is now my header!
I contacted her asking if she would do an illustration and she was so lovely! I am so happy with the illustration, she posted a photo to instagram when she had just started it and I could already see how much it looked like me! As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect to use as a header on my blog! So thank you again Robyn I am so happy with the result however I am also very jealous of your talent!!

Make sure to check out Robyn's blog here!

My Ideal Outfit!

Hello! I have created my ideal day outfit, it is quite simple but I think it's really chic and sophisticated!
I love this style of dress and the colour is absolutely beautiful! I don't have anything in my wardrobe this colour and I don't see too many items this shade, I think the leopard collar really adds to the dress and is a lovely detail!

I would pair this dress with simple black tights! I love when I can just throw on a pair of tights! Topshop tights are great quality and fairly affordable too.

This bag is such a classic style, it is very similar to a Prada bag but at a fraction of the price! It is also HUGE so it would be perfect for out and about as there is even a space for a laptop!

I wear a watch everyday and this is a classic watch that doesn't draw any attention away from the dress. The black strap matches the bag perfectly! When I wrote this blog post the watch was £20 and in the sale but it has since gone back to £25 so excuse that it says £20 in the image!

I think chelsea boots are perfect for pretty much any outfit, they often make casual outfits look more dressy! These are also really practical yet still make an outfit look super cute!

What would you pair the dress with?

February Favourites!

Here are my favourite products from the month of February!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
This product was in my last favourites post, I really like the finish of this foundation. I have been mixing it with my Nars Sheer Glow as this shade is a tiny bit too dark for me! I am holding off doing a full review of my Nars Sheer Glow as I bought the No7 cleansing brush and my skin went mental so I haven't been able to test it out fully!

Urban Decay Naked Palette
I am 100% in love with this palette, I did a full review here! I have used it every single day since I bought it!

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural
I have dry skin but still like to apply powder, this is light but still sets my makeup beautifully!

Soap and Glory Arch De Triumph
I used to use an eyeshadow to fill in my brows but recently I have been using this, I find with this I get a much better shape and I find it easier to get the perfect brow with this as apposed to using a shadow!

Random Favourites
This month I started watching a tv programme called 'My Mad Fat Diary.' When the adverts for this came out on tv I thought 'meh.' A friend then told me I should watch it and I never did. A channel I subscribe to on youtube made a fan video and it looked really good so I started watching it and I love it! I hate that there were only 6 episodes! I love that it is set in the 90's, it's so funny to see the old fashion and I am a fan of old music so I love the songs they use, nothing like a good old bit of Oasis eh? ;)

I also started watching the 2010 series of 'Upstairs Downstairs' this is a show I knew I would love, I was born to grow up in that time! The acting is great and I just generally love the show!

I like doing 'random favourites' in my favourites posts as I like to share tv shows, music and whatever else I'm loving! Sorry this is only a teenie tiny post! I also apologize for the lack of posts recently, I have been really busy but also haven't felt like blogging. I don't want to post just for the sake of it so I only post when I really want to! If you have any requests for posts please leave comments as I am suffering from blogging block and don't know what to post about!
