RazorPit Bump Foam!

I've recently been trying this product from a brand called RazorPit, they say it allows you to "say goodbye to painful and unsightly shaving bumps." This immediately appealed to me as I cannot seem to shave without them appearing! It is also formulated to care for sensitive skin, which I have, as well as extremely dry skin! The foam is a lot thinner than other shaving foams I have used, it is runnier and more "soap like" than most. There is not much of a scent to it which is good as the product is for both men and women! The product doesn't contain any parabens, perfumes or dyes so it is perfect to use on your whole body and is not going to be damaging for it. As I said, the product is for both men and women and can be used all over the body so it can help men if they suffer from ingrown hairs or razor bumps on their face and can help women, like me who get really bad razor bumps, especially my under arms! To use you simply wet your skin with water, spread the foam onto the area you want to shave and then shave before rinsing off the product with water! I quite like the fact that the foam is thinner and it doesn't feel like it's drying my skin out when I apply it. It's really easy to use and I love the fact that it doesn't irritate my dry and sensitive skin and at the same time, doesn't cause horrible red razor bumps! I think this is a really great, simple product. The packaging is not spectacular or particularly pretty but it does the job and does it well, I think it has to be quite simple in order to appeal to the male and female market. So overall I would really recommend this product if you suffer from razor bumps or ingrown hairs as it is fantastic for that! You can buy it online at www.razorpit.com  or from Look Fantastic here.

Life Lately

I feel like I haven't blogged for so long, there's been a post here and there but not a proper routine in a while, so I apologise! University got so crazy towards the end of the semester and I just didn't have time, then I finished uni and had a little break to catch up with friends so haven't got back into my normal routine. I had my birthday just under two weeks ago (let me know if you want a "what I got for my birthday post." I've also got a few photos from my birthday!) which was so nice, I went out with everyone from uni the night before my birthday as a "birthday/end of uni year" celebration. On my birthday I went to Bicester Village for a little bit of shopping and I bought a couple of things, my mum also made me the most amazing cake!

This week I had a quick catch up lunch with two of my close friends as I haven't properly chatted with them for so long and one of them is off to Ghana for a month! I then couldn't decided which ice cream flavour to get so, as I normally do, I got all of them. On Tuesday I went to London for the day, it was my friend from uni's birthday and she asked if I wanted to go to see Russell Howard with her (I of course said "YESSSSSS") which was amazing! It was so hilarious and his sister gave birth during the show (not actually at the show..! Ha!) and he called her up and all the audience sang happy birthday to his new nephew Wesley! So cute! He was so so good live and the Royal Albert Hall is such a beautiful venue!

There's also the final of the Trek America Blog4Trek contest which is happening this week, I'm so terrified about it! If you don't know, I entered a competition to win a trip around the west of the USA with Trek America! You can see my first stage entry here, second stage entry here and final entry here! I'm trying so hard not to get my hopes up as all the other entrants are so good! I have been trying to keep my mind off of it this week as I know if I think about it too much I will get too excited about it and I don't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed, so lets just do a little prayer and hope that I win!
I'm going on holiday next week too, I'm so in need of a holiday! I'm going to Gran Canaria, I think I'll be taking my laptop so I can still blog a little bit while I'm there and *attempt* to get back into it! For the past couple of months I have been working on another website, it was part of my university module, we had to make a "professional" style website for ourselves. Obviously I went down the photography route as that's what I see myself doing in the future, I'm quite proud of it so you can check that out here http://www.georginalucybaker.com

So that's pretty much everything that I can think of, sorry for the slightly random post but I've been away for a bit so thought a tiny update was necessary!

Blog4Trek Final Round! Why I Should Be The Next Trek Blogger!

Firstly I want to say thank you to everyone who liked my photo for the second round of the competition on Facebook, I was absolutely gobsmacked when I received the email saying I had made the final 5 for the Trek America contest, all the other entries were amazing so I thought I had absolutely no chance and genuinely thought my journey in the competition was over! So thank you to everyone for their support! For the final part of the competition we have to write a blog post explaining why we should win so here goes..

I knew as soon as I saw Victoria's blogpost on the competition, that I had to enter and once I had finished my lecture at uni and got home, I set to work straight away. I don't actually think I've ever been this determined to get something before, a few months ago I wrote my "2014 Goals" blog post, which included my New Years Resolutions for the year. I said I "would love to travel a bit more" and that I want to "go out more, say yes to more opportunities" as I think towards the end of last year I was feeling a bit trapped and wasn't saying yes to as many things as I should have. I feel like this competition came at the perfect time, it was something I could put all my effort and energy into, which I really have done!

I began blogging in 2012 after reading different types of blogs for a while, I've always been a creative person but was never very good at drawing or anything "arty" so I am constantly trying to find different ways of expressing my creativity. Blogging was exactly that, I could use my passion for photography and writing and get peoples responses at the same time! I think the great thing about blogging is that you can write about anything; photography, makeup, fashion, ant colonies and there will always be someone who enjoys it or who it applies to. As I absolutely love blogging, I put a lot of effort into it, while taking my A Levels I carried on blogging. (when I probably shouldn't have..oops)

While my blog is mainly beauty, I do share "lifestyle" posts as well, when I go on big trips or even small day trips around England, I love to show the photos I've taken and share them with my readers. The great thing about blogging is that it feels so personal, you feel like you almost know the person, so seeing their photos makes you feel like you've been on the trip too! I would love to blog along the journey of the Trek America trip, share photos and even perhaps try vlogging so my readers could feel like they are along on the journey too! I think with the amount of support I have received, I have to share the journey with everyone who has helped me get this far.

I think it would be a brilliant opportunity to have fun, having just finished my first year of uni. While it was so much fun, it was also extremely exhausting and the most tiring thing I've done so it would be amazing to go on the trip before I go back for my second year. As a photographer and filmmaker I think it would be the perfect way to capture the trek and allow others to see what a great opportunity it is and encourage them to see it for themselves! I made the video below to showcase my creativity, something that I know the Trek America team wanted the finalists to show throughout the competition and I always took into account the requirements and took each entry as far as I could. Throughout the competition I believe I have shown my creativity, from my stop motion video in the first round, to the flower photograph for the second stage (which I managed to cut my finger on, ouuchhh!) and now to the final stage with my video showing what I can do and my phenomenal *sarcastic* dinosaur animation at the end, he's called Jeffrey, just so you know ;) I thought the video was a good way of showing why I should win, I have made a number of different films and have been enthusiastic about photography for many years so I definitely think I tick the "creativity" box! :)

So, in summary, why should I win? Well, I spent two hours trying to make an animated dinosaur. I think I should win because I have shown how creative I am throughout the whole competition, how dedicated I am to everything I do and how much I would love to win the competition. It would honestly mean so much to have the opportunity to go on the Trek and I would get as much out of it as I possibly could, while a lot of the people I know are off travelling, it would be amazing to have the opportunity to see a new part of the world too. It would mean so much to go back to Santa Barbara, my favourite place in the world, see the bright lights of Vegas and see the beauty of the Grand Canyon.

Again, thank you to everyone who liked the photo and has supported me so far! Also thank you so much to the Trek America and FredPR team for all being so lovely!

Imperial Leather Foamburst Body Wash

These Imperial Leather Foamburst are a new range of body washes, there are seven different scents to choose from. I was asked if I wanted to try one and immediately chose the Sweet Vanilla and Cherry Blossom scent as I adore vanilla! There are seven new "genies" to represent each of the different scents, you can read about them here. The product comes out as a gel and when you apply it to your skin or add water, it turns into a foam. The product feels very luxurious on the skin and I absolutely love the packaging, I think it makes it look a lot more expensive than it actually is! It reminds me of a shaving gel which, as the bottle says, it can also be used for. I have used it as a shaving gel and it works really nicely so you get a body wash and a really lovely shaving gel for your money! You only need a tiny bit as a little goes such a long way, when I first used it, I applied waaay too much and ended up looking like a giant marshmallow, so I can tell the 200ml bottle is going to last a very long time! The scent is so lovely, it's quite girly and feminine but not too overpowering. I've been absolutely loving using it and I definitely want to try some of the other scents, for just £2.00 you really can't go wrong!

You can also watch this video on the new product!
