What's On My Face

Even though I've been sat in bed with Tonsillitis, wearing absolutely no makeup for the past week, I thought I would share the makeup I've been wearing lately/before I was taken down by this horrific illness which has made me feel like death. Moving on..I recently purchased the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, my first Chanel makeup purchase ever! This foundation isn't one I would generally go for, it's very liquidy and I generally wear medium to full coverage foundations which this definitely isn't! I'm still not 100% sure how I feel about it, it is very similar in consistency to the Mac Face and Body foundation and I'm still trying to work out the best way to apply it, when I have tried it out for longer, I will do a full review! Under my eyes I use the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, this is perfect for my under eyes as they get quite dry and this has a really creamy (as the name suggests!) texture and it's brilliant for dark circles! On blemishes i've been using the Nars Creamy Concealer which is my favourite but is running out *sobs* everyone knows how difficult the lighter shades of this concealer is to get hold of, it's almost always out of stock! For powder I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder which is a really affordable but great product! I also recently purchased the Mac Blusher in Harmony which I have been using to contour as it is the perfect shade and is matte. On my eyes I start with the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock all over the lid and then apply Naked from the Urban Decay Naked Palette in the crease. I then apply one of the darker brown shades (I just pick one at random from the palette!) to the outer corner. I then apply a brown eyeliner on the upper lash line (the one I use is from Loreal) and then apply mascara, the one I'm currently using is the Max Factor Wild Mega Volume which is good however I prefer slightly smaller brushes as I find them easier to use! For my brows I absolutely love the Anastasia Brow Wiz, it is by far the best brow product I have ever used!

Mr Nutcase Iphone Case

I was really excited when I was asked if I wanted to create my own case from Mr Nutcase as I've wanted a personalised case for ages! It was really quick and easy to make, you just pick which phone you have and you can then pick the layout you want. There are lots of different layouts to choose from, you can choose to have just one picture lots of different ones. I chose to have eight squares as it meant the photos were a reasonable size, you just upload the photos you want to use and you can arrange them in whichever order you want to. I chose photos that are mainly from my instagram so they are quite personal ones and I think this would also make a really nice gift for someone as it has such a personal touch! This case retails for £14.95 which I think is a really great and affordable price, especially as I have seen other for over £30! The case is made of sturdy plastic and the photos are really clear and great quality. The postage was also super quick and arrived the two days after I ordered it! Even if you don't have an iPhone they make cases for a number of different brands of phones as well as iPad cases.

You can also get 10% off a case with the code "Thanku10” so another reason to put in an order! Check out the website here!

Current Favourites

I recently bought a Tangle Teaser, it was an impulse purchase while on my lunch break! I never really thought about getting one as I didn't think I had particularly knotty hair but it found it's way into my basket and I bought it. It really is as good as everyone says it is, it comes in particularly handy after I towel dry my hair as this makes it so tangly, you can use the Tangle Teaser on wet hair and it doesn't damage it. The great thing about this brush is that no matter how tangly I've managed to get my hair, this sorts it out without causing any pain! On a recent trip to Space NK I picked up the (ridiculously expensive) By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock, I have worn this everyday since I got it! It's such a pretty colour and can be worn on it's own or how I've been doing it, under brown eyeshadows to create a smokey eye. It's really quick and easy to apply and it stays all day without creasing! My favourite foundation recently has been Laura Mercier Silk Creme, this is one of my top foundations. The coverage is medium to full and it doesn't cling to any dry patches on my skin, perfect! Finally is the Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer which I tend to use under my eyes and it is great for dark circles, the consistency is really creamy (hence the name) and easy to apply!

May Birchbox

I was really excited when May's Birchbox arrived at my door, the boxes are always so cute and well thought out and this box is no exception! This month they have paired up with Harpers Bazaar and there is also a subscription offer for the magazine! So, what's in the box?

Benefit They're Real Mascara £19.50
You get a sample size of this raved about mascara which I really love, I find that the brush is the perfect size for me (I'm so clumsy so large brushes on mascara's ends up with mascara everywhere!) and the bristles also make sure lashes don't get clumped together, as well as adding length! It's also nice to get a sample of something slightly pricey to try it out before you splurge!

Soigne Nail Polish £11 - Shade - creme au beurre
This is a full size item and is such a pretty colour, a super pretty and wearable pale pink. In the box this looked really luxurious and similar to Chanel packaging!

Aromatherapy Associates Bath and Shower Oil £39
This is an oil which you can either add to your bath (about a cap full) or smooth over your body before you hop in the shower. It has a blend of grapefruit, rosemary and juniper berry!

Beauty Protector Shampoo and Conditioner £14 each
These are sulphate free formula shampoo and conditioner which smell amazing, AMAZING!

Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish £13.25
This is the only product in the box I'm not a huge fan of, I break out a lot when I use Cleanse and Polish (apparently it's the cocoa butter in it) but I know it is a cult favourite for so many!

As always the box has been really well thought out, I love the bold floral pattern on the box. You also get a little magazine talking about all the products in the boxes as well as a card detailing what is in your box and what it can be used for. I'm really impressed with this box, even though I won't use the Cleanse and Polish I can always give it to my mum to try out! You can find out more about Birchbox here!

My Experience At The Reebok Spa In Canary Wharf

A few weeks ago I was asked if I wanted to come down to the Reebok Sports Club in Canary Wharf and have a facial, I jumped at the opportunity as my skin has been pretty terrible lately! The Reebok Sports Club is in the Canada Water shopping centre just next to Canary Wharf Tube Station so it's really accessible and easy to get to! I got the lift to the second floor which opens straight into the Sports Club and then I walked through to the spa. The staff were super lovely, I was offered water while I waited for my appointment and was asked to fill out a form on my age, any medical conditions and whether I was taking any medication for my skin, before they could go ahead with the facial. Before I went I was asked if I wanted to try the Hydraclean facial which according to the website is for those who "have demanding schedules that leave little time for longer treatments, this facial works in two simple ways, firstly to cleanse and eliminate toxins, secondly a relaxing massage leaves the skin hydrated and luminous. Experiencing a facial has never been simpler, sophisticated skincare has never been so accessible without having to compromise on time." When it was time for my appointment I went into a candle lit room where I got onto a massage bed, the facial only takes around 25 minutes which went so quickly! The facial was such a lovely experience, my makeup was removed and my skin was deep cleansed, I was then given a lovely face and body massage before a gel is applied and a heated electrode glides over the skin. The heat from the electrode "favours the hyper secretion of the sebaceous and sweat glands, thereby eliminating excess sebum and toxins." They then offered an extraction (getting rid of any blackheads) which made such a difference! Finally was another facial massage to "re-commence skin microcirculation." When I walked out of the spa, my skin felt very refreshed and radiant and I definitely think my skin has improved since I had it done. The experience was so lovely, the whole Reebok Sports Club in general feels very luxurious and the staff were all really nice. The facial retails for £41 which is quite pricey but the whole spa experience was something I would definitely recommend and I would do it again. At the Sports Club you can also do fitness classes like boxing, yoga, indoor cycling and pilates. They also do Hypnotherapy, Physiotherapy, Reflexology and Sports Massage.

Lauren's Way Darker Than Dark Self Tanner

I was recently asked if I wanted to try the Lauren's Way Darker Than Dark Self Tanner, having just been on holiday and getting absolutely no tan, (the before picture is from after my holiday!!) I thought it was the perfect opportunity to add a little bit of colour to my skin! The bottle had a spray which I find really easy to use, I simply spray once or twice onto the tanning mit (you can see this here) and apply it on my skin. I find that the spray bottle creates less mess than other tans I've used! I was a little worried at first about the fact it's called "darker than dark" as I didn't want anything too dramatic, being very pale naturally! When you first apply it, it is quite dark and you leave it on for eight hours before showering. After the eight hours and just before showering I did look very dark however once I had showered the colour was a lot more subtle. As I wanted a more natural colour I didn't apply a lot so if you do want to end up with a darker tan just apply more than I did. The tan does smell a little bit "fake tan like" for the eight hours before you wash it off but after that, there is no smell at all which is great! I have got so many compliments from people including my mum who said she was "very impressed" with how good the tan looks, I think she wants to try it out! I think this tan is great for if you want a natural tan or if you want a more dramatic tan as you can achieve both with this! The tan is long lasting and I went for about a week before touching it up. Overall I really love this tan and will definitely continue to use it, I have got such a lovely natural and not orange tan from it!
You can buy the tan from the Lauren's Way website, here!

Recent Purchases

I thought I would share a few of the items I've picked up recently, I've been so useless as blogging lately, so thought I would do a nice easy post to get back into it. Almost everyday I open up blogger and *attempt* to write a post but for some reason I don't have the energy, I just haven't felt like blogging really and I've been feeling a bit down *sadface*
I've been on two trips to London in the past few weeks, I popped into Forever 21 as I wanted to get some long leggings for running, I found a pair and I absolutely love them, they are so comfy, I even wore them home on the plane! I also picked up a sports bra/top which is really pretty and surprisingly keeps everything in place while I run/workout! I also had a little browse in Space NK, I was in a strange mood and picked up the By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock, I didn't look at the price and just bought it without even considering it. It was £28, which I think is just a tad excessive for what is essentially a creme eyeshadow and I now kind of regret it as I want to buy all the shades..I had spotted this beautiful mint green dress in Topshop the first time I was in London, it was £68 which I thought was a bit too expensive and I put it back. When I spotted a Topshop in the Canada Square Shopping Centre, I said to myself "if the dress is there, I have to get it." I guess it was fate as I walked in and there it was and before I knew it I had handed my card over and it was mineee. If you want to see what it looks like on, you can see a photo on my instagram, here. I also picked up the Clear Improvement Mask from Origins as I have really been trying to take better care of my skin as it's been so terrible lately, it's frustrating that it's worse now, as an adult than it was when I was younger, so if anyone has any skin advice, I am all ears! Finally I picked up the Essie Nail Polish in A Splash of Grenadine which is by far the most beautiful colour and is now my favourite colour!

So there's a few things I've bought recently, if you have any requests for blog posts please leave them in the comments as I've lost all my blogging inspiration lately!
