Skincare Staples

I've always had temperamental skin, it's acne prone, sensitive and often scars easily. I also react to a lot of skincare products frequently so it's rare that I'm happy with my routine as I love trying new products however my skin has been behaving itself lately and I'm happy with my current routine. To remove my makeup I've been using a Face Halo, I'm obsessed with it as it makes taking my makeup off so easy. You just run the Face Halo under warm water and gently use it across your face in circular motions to remove all makeup, I'm slightly baffled how these work as they remove pretty much all my makeup using just water. After I've removed my makeup, I cleanse with the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm to ensure I've got rid of all my mascara and anything else the Face Halo missed. I like this cleansing balm as it's unscented which means it's less likely to react with my skin, I want to try the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm however I'm wary to spend that much money on a product that could break me out. The Clinique Cleansing Balm is a no frills product, it does the job and removes my makeup but it doesn't do anything spectacular. I then use the Eve Lom Cleanser on my skin, I've always loved and regularly purchased the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser but I had another Eve Lom Cleanser that I had received as a gift so I've been using that regularly recently and really enjoyed it again. It is much thicker than the Glossier Cleanser and feels almost like a really thick balm so I definitely feel that using this and the Clinique Balm means every single bit of makeup is removed.

When it comes to face masks, I've been using two. The Eve Lom Rescue Mask is a firm favourite, whenever I have skin issues and bad breakouts, I love to use this as it completely sorts out my skin. It's slightly on the pricey side so a really great alternative is the Mario Badescu Flower and Tonic Mask which I've also been loving if I've got a breakout. I don't think you need both of these so it depends which is more in your budget. In the evening before bed I've been loving using the Glamglow Good In Bed night cream and I mix in the Tax Luxe The Face Illuminating Drops. Every morning I wake up with such soft skin and have noticed a difference in my skin since using this night cream, it is quite expensive but it's been the best night cream I've tried. I can't use normal fake tan on my face as I generally react to it so I've recently purchased the Tan Luxe Drops to use on my face to give it a bit of colour. I bought the light/medium version so it doesn't make a huge difference to the skin but it adds a really natural glow and luckily I’ve not had any problems reacting to it. Before my makeup in the morning I've been using the Origins Ginzing Moisturiser, I have tried a lot of Origins products in the past and love them. This moisturiser smells amazing and gives my skin the hydration it definitely needs, if you have dry skin this is such a lovely product.
