April Favourites!

Here are my favourite products for the month of April! I started using Mac Studio Sculpt foundation again, I bought this a while ago and used it for about a week before trying something else, I didn't really test it out properly so can't really remember what I thought about it before! Although since using it again I have been loving it! I would say this foundation is medium to full coverage which I really like as my skin has not been behaving this month at all! If you would like a full review just leave a comment and I will do one! Underneath the foundation I have been loving the Revitalash primer*, you can read my full review here. I find that this has really made a difference to how long my foundation stays on for and prevents any shininess! I have also been into contouring and highlighting a lot more this month, whereas before I was just applying foundation, concealer and powder with a blusher if I felt like it! My favourite is the Sleek Contour Kit, I find that contour powders are often too dark for my skin but this one is perfect, I love that they have different shades for you to choose from so there really is something for everyone! I also love the highlight as it has shimmer but it isn't overly glittery! Finally I have been loving the Tony and Guy Salt Spray, my hair is very flat and never seems to have any texture to it! I have used a few different salt sprays but I found that they never really did anything for my hair however this one is amazing!! Someone recommended that I should try it and I'm so glad they did, my hair has so much more volume when I use this and is great for when my hair is wavy or when I curl it! It is also really affordable which is great and when I run out I will definitely be repurchasing!

Nars Deep Throat Blush

Nars Deep Throat Blusher £21.50

After trying Nars Sheer Glow Foundation (review here) I knew I had to try more Nars products! I decided my next purchase would be a blusher as they are raved about so much on blogs! I them spent about two hours trying to decide which shade I wanted, in the end I went with "Deep Throat." I think this is one of the most raved about and most popular shades, it's one that I have heard a lot about on blogs and on youtube. I was trying to decide which to buy out of Deep Throat and Orgasm, however Orgasm was out of stock so I went with Deep Throat! I think this colour is beautiful and really suits my skin tone, I often find with blushers that they seem to bring out all the redness in my skin however this one is just the perfect pink shade! I think it would be great on most skintones to be honest! It has a little shimmer to it which I personally really like, its not glittery at all it just adds a slight sheen to your cheeks! I was quite lucky as I bought this when John Lewis had their 10% price match (this happens quite a lot so keep an eye out for this!) and my cousin gets 25% staff discount so I was very lucky to get this for around £14.50 however I would still have purchased for full price as I have been absolutely loving this blush recently! I already have many more Nars blushers on my shopping list including Nico, Amour, Orgasm, Albatross, Penny Lane, Gina (mainly because it's my name) and Madly, I just do not know how my bank balance is going to deal with that! Overall I have been really loving this blusher, its fab!

Have you tried any Nars blushers?

Little Birdie London Wishlist!

Hello! Today I have a wishlist for you all, I used to do wishlist a lot but haven't done one in quite a while! This wishlist features Little Birdie London which is a new online jewellery store, I found their website recently and think they have some really cute items! The Green Friendship Bracelet is so pretty, I absolutely love this colour and think it would be perfect for the summer! The Deer Studs are also really cute! I have so many earrings and I always love to find quirky ones, these ones are perfect! The Two Skull Skinny Cuff  is something I have seen a few times before but with animals on so I really love the skull, for a girly girl I actually really love skulls and own a lot of jewellery and clothes with them on! I think they really toughen up an outfit, I also love gold jewellery! I saw the Candy Bunting Necklace on another blogger and it looked super cute! Statement necklaces are in fashion at the moment and I love to wear them with a simple outfit so they stand out!

Have you tried any jewellery from Little Birdie London?

Revitalash Fineline Primer Review!

I used to use primer a lot but then for a while I didn't think it was particularly necessary. A few months ago I bought the Benefit Porefessional which I wasn't the biggest fan of as I found that it clung to the dry parts on my face and I had to be very careful where I was putting it! My skin is quite odd, it can be very very dry however throughout the day my nose and the areas around my nose can get quite shiny! Since going on antibiotics to improve my skin I have tried to get into a proper skincare routine and take better care of my skin! I have recently realised that primer is actually a key step that I should be using, I have been really liking this product! When I wear it I have noticed that my nose and the areas around it have not been getting shiny and oily like they were before, infact when I forgot to apply this product yesterday I was very shocked at how shiny and gross my skin looked! The texture of this is really nice and my skin feels smooth rather than dry when I used the Benefit Porefessional! It didn't effect how my makeup looked on the skin either, whereas with others I have tried my foundation was clinging to dry parts on my face! This product also claims to be anti-ageing and help finelines and wrinkles appear less visible, I can't comment too much on this as I am a mere 18 years old and wrinkles are *hopefully* a few years away however when I applied it on the back of my hand I noticed that the little dimples and lines were a lot less visible and my skin does look a lot smoother when I am wearing this and generally A LOT nicer! I have been using this for a good couple of weeks and it looks like I have used barely any of it, a little really does go a long way with the product too! The only downside I would say is that this products is very pricey and being a student means I just don't have the funds, however if you do I would totally recommend it and the product lasts for a very long time so you would 100% get your moneys worth!

Overall I would recommend this product as it has really made a difference to how my skin looks with foundation on, I have found that I don't need to powder my skin throughout the day and my skin looks so much smoother!

Illamasqua Speckle Nail Polish

Illamasqua Nail Polish "Speckle" £14.50

I had seen this nail polish on a few blogs and thought it looked really pretty, I had also never seen a nail polish like it. I was perusing the Illamasqua counter in Selfridges trying to decide whether to purchase this one or "Scarce" I decided on "Speckle" as I tend to wear more purple shades. I now really wish I had bought "Scarce" as well as "Speckle" and also "Mottle" but I don't think my bank balance would appreciate it! I usually purchase drugstore nail polishes so this was my first "higher end" nail purchase! I found that the formula of this was a lot nicer than many of my drugstore polishes and it went on evenly without streak and I didn't need many coats of this before I was happy with the result! The polish reminds me of mini eggs when applied which I love and I have got countless compliments and people asking me what nail polish it is! Please excuse my short nails, they are not in the best condition at the moment! But as you can see the colour looks exactly as it does in the bottle and the polish lasted well even without a top coat! I am thoroughly impressed with this nail polish and would happily purchase more from Illamasqua! This was the first item I have tried from Illamasqua and I am impressed, I have already made a wishlist of what I am planning to buy next!

What I got for my birthday!

Hello! Last Thursday was my birthday, I had an awesome day and I thought I would show you what I received! As a disclaimer, I am in no way showing off or bragging about what I got. I was incredibly lucky, as it was my 18th birthday my family spent more on me then usual as they wanted to buy me things that I would keep forever.

I received these three pandora rings from members of my family, I picked out a few of these as I would wear them stacked on top of each other and I thought it would be a nice idea to have one from each person. I love these rings, especially the heart one as its so cute! I was so shocked as my grandparents bought me a Michael Kors watch, I have the smaller rose gold watch and had wanted another for a while but was actually saving up to buy one myself! I have worn this everyday since I got it and love it so much!

My mum and dad bought me this frame, I have had this photo of Phoebe and I for ages and had been meaning to buy a frame for it! It is now by my bed, its so strange to see how much she has grown and changed in just a few months!
On my birthday my parents bought me a few bits to open but hadn't got me my present, as we were going into London they said I might see something I liked when we were there. We went to the Mulberry shop and I got a Bayswater! I picked up a few different ones, one was £4000, don't think I will be having that one anytime soon ;) but decided on this one as it is a classic! I had a really lovely birthday, the day before I went to a spa with my aunt, my sister and my mum. It was amazing! On my birthday I went to central London with my parents and just had a little shop! We also went out to dinner in the evening, then the day after we had my family over for a little partay! Thank you to everyone who wished me happy birthday on here, twitter and instagram!

My Skincare Routine

Hello! It's my birthday today! Yay! I am currently shopping in central London! Anyway, today I am going to show you all my skincare routine, I finally feel like I have a group of products I like and am using regularly whereas before I was trying to find products that suited my skin and was having a lot of trouble as I seemed to break out for every product I was trying! I am currently on antibiotics for my skin so it has calmed down a lot and I don't have to worry as much about products breaking me out!
I am absolutely loving the Origins Mega-Mushroon Cleanser, a woman I work with also works on the Origins counter and she had been telling me for ages I HAD to try the Mega-Mushroom cleanser, she has also been telling me to buy the serum which I am currently saving up for! I hate mushrooms but this product doesn't smell of mushrooms, it's an odd smell and my mum can always tell when I've used it because apparently my face smells! (lovely!) I have never used a product that has made my face feel as soft and clean as this has! I always thought cleansers were a bit 'meh' I had never found one that really did anything. They all did the job fine but there was nothing special about them, however this product is so lovely! The moisturiser I use is the Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser, I have dry skin so finding a good moisturiser is a must for me. This one is thicker than most I have tried but it makes my skin feel so much more nourished!

Once a week I use a mask, I love the Warming Mineral Mask from The Body Shop, as you massage this into your skin it heats up! Its quite an odd feeling but whenever I take this off my skin feels lovely! I have done a full review of the Lush Grease Lightening Here but it has been a stable in my skincare routine for years! I apply some on any spots I have at night and by the morning they have either gone or significantly reduced in size! A new product I have been trying is the Boots Botanics Skin Relief Serum, this contains marshmallow and one of my friends told me I had to try it! I have been using this for a little while and it makes my skin feel lovely! I apply it after I have cleansed at night and in the morning! The final product in my skincare routine is the St Ives Apricot Face Scrub, I have used this for years! I use it about once a week on my skin and it is great, especially as I have dry skin!

March Favourites!

Hello! Here are my favourite products for the month of March! A few of these were featured in my Everyday Makeup post! At the end of February I repurchased the Umberto Giannini Backcomb in a Bottle, I had a travel size of this a long time ago. I repurchased because there was an offer on and I thought I could try it again. I honestly can't remember if I liked it the first time I bought it as it was so long ago but I have been loving it this month. I have said before that my hair is very flat and even if I backcomb my hair, hairspray it and use 50 million different products after about 2 minutes my hair is back to being flat again! This product is really great, it adds so much more volume to my hair! I have also been loving the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, this is definitely my favourite brush for applying foundation and it works with every foundation I use! I have also been loving the Nars Sheerglow Foundation, you can read my full review here.
For Christmas my friend gave me the Soap and Glory Clean on Me shower gel in the travel size, I loved it so much that I bought the full size! This is the only shower gel that I've found where the smell stays on my skin for ages! In my Everyday Makeup Post I also said I was using the Nars Deep Throat Blusher, I have been using it every day since I bought it! I also mentioned that I have been loving the Revlon Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish, this is just the prettiest shade!

What have you been loving this month?
