May Favourites!

It's favourites time again! But first, notice anything different? I am so happy to have got my blog redesigned by Abby and I absolutely love it, let me know what you think of it! So, on to my favourites, my skin has been terrible lately so I've been needing a little more coverage than normal when it comes to foundation, I decided to give the Mac Studio Sculpt foundation a whirl again. I seem to pick up this foundation, use it for a few days and then move on to something else, I haven't really tested it out fully. I am planning on doing a full review of this so keep an eye out for that but in short I have really been liking it for my temperamental skin! I recently bought the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, I already own the Buffing Brush (as well as almost every other Real Techniques brush!) and didn't know whether I should fork out more money on a similar brush. I can do a comparison post but I find that the Expert Face Brush is more dense which I personally really like! I think it would take a lot for a Real Techniques brush to be a disappointment as all the ones I have tried have been really great and even rival my Mac brushes! The Mac Melon Pigment has been on my wishlist for ages, but it was one of those items that I just never got around to buying. While in Mac I saw it and thought "why not?" I'm so glad I picked it up as I have used it everyday! This works great with my blue eyes, I've always been told that bronzey/gold shades really make blue eyes pop and it's true! I use this all over my lid and it's perfect! I have always avoided pigments as I thought they would get everywhere, I use this on my finger rather than a brush as I found that just caused a lot of fallout but patting it on with my finger didn't. I have wanted to try the Benefit They're Real mascara for ages, however it's so pricey! When I saw that Elle magazine had a miniature version, I rushed out and picked up a copy! I have been really impressed with this mascara and am even considering parting with my money and picking up the full size when I finish this one!! Finally my favourite perfume, I first received the Stella by Stella McCartney perfume for Christmas in a smaller size however last month for my birthday my friends bought the larger bottle for me. I'm not going to attempt to describe how this smells because I will fail spectacularly but if you go into Debenhams/Boots/John Lewis I would highly recommend you check it out as even though I have a few different perfumes I use this one everyday!

Wishlist!

Recently, after trying to save money I have wanted to buy everything. I swear this always happens, when I have no money I see everything and when I have money I never find anything! I have been looking for a few new bikinis for when I go on holiday, the Lemon Bikini and Pineapple Bikini from Topshop caught my eye straight away! I love bold patterns and these are so cute!! Unfortunately they are both out of stock in my size but I will be checking everyday until I can get them! For ages I have wanted some above knuckle rings, I love the way these look and absolutely love this one from Shop Dixi as I love rose gold jewellery! I have been lusting after this Crown and Glory Headband for ages now, I love burgundy and wear it all the time so know I would get a lot of wear out of this, it's just so cute! Finally, my most longed for item. I swear every time I go on Tumblr I see a photo of this Celine Bag, I could get a sensible colour like black but I just love this bright yellow! I think it will take me a few years to save up for it though! *sigh*

What have you been lusting after lately?

Highstreet Beauty Picks

As much as I love buying high end makeup, there are still some amazing products in the drugstore and in some cases products that are better than high end! I thought I would share a few of my favourite high street makeup products! Recently I think Rimmel have really pulled it out of the bag, they have been releasing some amazing products. The Wake Me Up foundation is a great foundation and even rivals many of my higher end ones! I love the coverage and the finish is just so beautiful! The Sleek Contour Kit is a product I have used for years, I especially love this when travelling as it contains and contour and a highlight. I love that it comes in different shades so if you are paler like me then you can pick one to suit your skin! My favourite liquid liner is the Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner, Soap and Glory are a brand I really love and this eyeliner is great, the pen makes it so easy to do winged eyeliner! Topshop make some really great makeup, when they first came out with makeup I didn't think it would be that good as clothing stores have done it before and they've been a bit "meh" however I love Topshop makeup. Their blushers are so beautiful, this one in the shade "Powdered" is so pretty! Their lipsticks are also amazing, I have very dry lips and find it so hard to wear some lipsticks as they just accentuate it, however these are so creamy! I love the shades "Nevada" and "Innocent" but I also have a shopping list the length of my arm as people keep recommending shades to me! Another lip product I love are the Revlon Lip Butters, as I said my lips are dry and so the formula of these are perfect! The shade range is so lovely! I adore "Tutti Frutti" and "Strawberry Shortcake."

1 year blogging!

A year ago today I published my first blog post and began my blogging journey, it feels like this year has gone so fast and so many things have happened in this time. I am so glad I started this blog as only good things have come of it, I have managed to document different things that happened to me, my holiday last year, Phoebe being born and my trip to California. When I started my blog I genuinely didn't think anyone would follow it, I had a blog before this one and worked on it for about a year, with 25 followers so I thought this one would be similar. However as I began to learn how to design my blog, how to take better photos, how to edit them and how to write better posts, followers seemed to appear and I genuinely get so excited when I see a new follower on my blog. Last year wasn't the best year for me, I felt very down for the majority of it but my blog kept me going and it felt like somewhere I could express my feelings and my creativity, I also met some amazing people who restored my faith in humanity! It's so crazy when I look back and see that I ran a giveaway, won a giveaway, have been invited to events, worked with some lovely companies that I wouldn't have met if it hadn't been for my blog and most of all met some amazing people. I didn't have too many friends at school and thought most people were bitchy but I was proved wrong when people would compliment me on blog posts and tweet me nice tweets, there are a lot of people I've met through blogging that I now consider my friends and hope I can meet in real life one day. If you are sat reading this post and have wanted to start a blog my advice to you is "start!" Only positive things have come from my blog and I hope that soon I will actually post youtube videos, I have filmed, edited and uploaded two but they are currently on private as I'm still quite scared! Youtube is something I have wanted to do for ages now and even though I am terrified at the thought of putting my face out there, I am so excited to start something new. It's so weird to think that I started with nothing and through hard work have built something that I am so proud of! I was hoping to do a 1 year giveaway but I am lacking in the funds department at the moment! So when I get some money keep your eyes peeled for that! I am sorry for the soppy post today but just know that if you read my blog, I appreciate you a lot and want to thank you for following!

My Everyday Makeup #2

I thought I would show you all the makeup I have been using on a daily basis! I tend to use the same makeup and do the same sort of thing for a while before switching it up a little bit! I have been using the Revitalash Fineline Primer* before my makeup, you can read my full review here! It makes my skin feel so much nicer and creates a really lovely base for my makeup! My favourite foundation at the moment is the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation, I never really tested this out properly but in the past week or so I have been using it everyday! I absolutely love love love it! It is one of the best drugstore foundations I have tried and it's one of the cheapest! As always I use the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, I think everyone has tried this and I really don't have much to say other than it's my absolute favourite concealer! I also use the Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural to set my makeup, you can read my full review here! Before I apply eyeshadow I like to use the Urban Decay Primer Potion, this really helps eyeshadows to last longer and stop them creasing! As I have mentioned about 5 million times, my favourite eyeshadows to use are from the Urban Decay Naked Palette, full review here. Recently I have been using either "Virgin" or "Sin" across the lid with "Smog" in the outer corner! I also use "Naked" for my brows which I am loving as it is perfect for my fair eyebrows! I then apply a thin line of the Estee Lauder Gel Eyeliner to make my eyelashes appear fuller, I love this eyeliner and it has lasted me absolutely ages! I have been using the Revlon Grow Luscious mascara for quite a while now which I really like!

Bank Holiday in Brighton!

On the bank holiday weekend we wanted to go somewhere and get out of the house as I had spent the Friday working and the Saturday cooped up inside the house. Brighton is somewhere I have always wanted to go to, so on Sunday morning we decided to hop in the car and drive there! It is relatively close to where I live so should only take about an hour and a half however we went there when there was a festival so the traffic was crazy and it took us a bit longer! When we got there we walked towards the beach which is really lovely and I got some really nice photos, we then walked along the pier which was like my dream as there was candy floss stalls, donut sellers and candy everywhere! We then went to find some shops, around the shops reminds me of Bath, another city I love as there's lots of little streets leading from other streets. It has become a little tradition to find a Mac store in every city and town we go to so of course we had to find the Mac store in Brighton. I purchased "Kid" eyeshadow and "Melon" pigment (which I am absolutely loving!) Brighton is a town I would really recommend you visit if you haven't done already, we were only there for one day however I am hoping to go for a few days in the summer to explore it some more!

Macadamia Control Hairspray

Macadamia Natural Oil Control Spray £17.45*

Hairsprays were never something I invested much money in, I tended to rely on cheap own brand hairsprays however since trying this one I have realised how awful all the previous hairsprays are, this product is a new favourite of mine! I've never found a hairspray that doesn't leave my hair feeling like concrete but this leaves my hair feeling exactly the same as it does without hairspray yet holds it in place all day! Since cutting a fringe and hating it, I have been pinning my hair out of the way and the shorter bits just don't stay without being sprayed with this! Macadamia claim that the spray is "fast drying without stickiness or build up." This is definitely true, it is incredibly fast drying and not sticky at all! I always find that other hairsprays have an awful smell however I actually really like the smell of this spray! The can is absolutely huge and is definitely going to last me ages! The only downside to this product is the price, it is quite pricey for a hairspray however I do really love this product and would highly recommend it!

Wishlist!

Seeing as I am (meant to be) on a spending ban, I seem to have found a million things I want to buy! I have been lusting after this Mulberry Purse for ages but can't seem to find it anywhere! It matches my Bayswater bag and I absolutely love the scalloped edge! If anyone knows where I can find this purse please let me know! There are a number of Mac products that seem to always be on my "to buy" list but I never get round to buying them, Melba Blush is one I have wanted for absolutely ages as it is such a beautiful colour and think it would be one of the rare blushers that suits my skintone! The above knuckle trend is everywhere now and I have been looking for some that are relatively cheap, these Urban Outfitters ones are sold in a pack and are really pretty, I love that you get both gold and silver ones in the pack! After reading lots of reviews and being a foundation addict I have decided that I need the Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation because quite frankly I don't think owning over 20 foundations is enough! ;) I have wanted it for ages and think I may just have to splurge and buy it! When shopping with my Mum I noticed these Fat Face Moccasins, I tried them on and they were the comfiest shoes I've ever put on! I don't really shop in Fat Face but they actually have some nice items!

What items are on your wishlist?
