New Years Resolutions.

It's so scary to think that today is the last day of 2012. Although, I won't miss it, 2012 has been a bit of a crappy year for me. But I can already see that 2013 is hopefully going to be so much better, I go to LA at the end of January, go to Spain with my family and it's Phoebe's first holiday! It will also be my 18th birthday and Phoebe's 1st birthday! New years resolutions are not really things I do every year, I tend to get to June and think "maybe I should *insert resolution here*" and then can't be bothered because it's June and I'm lazy. I remember a few years ago I set a resolution to exercise everyday, I used to be quite unmotivated in terms of exercise so this was the worst resolution for me. However this year I have set pretty simple resolutions that I think I could achieve so here they are..

Each time I do something fun/exciting write it on a piece of paper and put it in a jar, at the end of the year open each one
I tend to forget fun things I have done and think doing this will be a really nice idea so I can look back on the year.

Get to my goal weight
This is a personal one for me, I'm not going to say my goal weight but I think I could get there definitely by the end of the year!

Carry on blogging
I sometimes get a bit unmotivated for blogging, I'm quite hard on myself so when I don't get as many comments I put myself down and sometimes don't feel like blogging. But it has been such a lovely experience and I am so glad I started my blog so I would just love to continue to see where my blog could go!

Complete as many of my "before I'm 25" as possible!
I love when I look back at this and see that I have accomplished more, it's such a nice feeling! I would love to complete "go to IMATS," "start a youtube beauty channel," "buy a designer handbag" and "go vegetarian and vegan for one month."

Keep exercising as much as I can
I don't think it's good to make resolutions like "exercise everyday" because you tend to feel disheartened when you miss a day. So I would like to carry on exercising as much as I can and if I am busy I will just take the day off!

Have you set any resolutions?

Christmas Day!

Hello! I thought I would share a few photos of my christmas day! I actually completely forgot about my camera so that's why there aren't that many photos!

This year was slightly different as my sister moved out. I decided to wait for my sister, her boyfriend and Phoebe to arrive before I opened any presents, normally we open stockings at about 9am. My sister didn't arrive until 12am and we ended up opening our stockings at about 2pm! This year was really all about Phoebe as it was her first christmas! To be honest, I've kind of got to the point where christmas isn't as fun anymore *sadface* but it's so lovely to have a little cutie to buy fun presents for! I bought Phoebe a little crab that plays music, a peppa pig dvd and Reef dvd as she stares at the tv when Peppa Pig is on and she has her own pet fish so I thought she would like Reef!

I got a bunch of little presents from my parents as I didn't have one specific thing I wanted, a lot of people got me money as I am going to LA at the end of January! My mum was a complete star and made everyone their own stocking which she made me hang on the fireplace and take a photo of!

As always me and Mum set the table! My Mum makes sure everything is perfect! So the crackers have to be in the same position! Haha!

I made a Bailey's cheesecake with a bit too much chocolate on top!!

Phoebe was exhausted after a long day!!

I'm not entirely sure whether I should do a "what I got for Christmas post" as I don't want to come across as someone who shows off! But if you would like to see that then leave a comment and let me know! I am trying to think of some interesting posts to do as I feel like doing some different things, I really want to start doing outfit of the days again as I really enjoyed doing those, it's just so hard finding a place in my house to do it! My house has no blank walls and no good lighting! *sigh*

Sorry this post wasn't too interesting but I hope you all had a lovely christmas! What gifts did you get? (Yes, I'm nosey..)

Home Sweet Home..

On Wednesday evening I went out to dinner with one of my best friends, we were quite early for our reservation so we decided to have a look around the Christmas market. I love where I live and at christmas  it's just so beautiful! I thought I would show you a few of the pictures I took, it was raining and quite busy so the photos aren't that good!

I really love where I live, it's such a beautiful, historic town! I honestly hate the thought of maybe having to move away next year and am trying my hardest to find a way to go to university and stay! I had a really nice dinner with my best friend after, me being boring had the light margarita pizza from Prezzo, but it was so good! It was nice hanging out with my friend as we had been trying to plan it for ages! It's hard when I work a lot and we both have university interviews! We also exchanged christmas gifts which was really lovely!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo's!

I really love using cream shadows under my powder ones, it makes the eyeshadow last longer as it has something to stick to. I picked up my first Maybelline Colour Tattoo's quite a while ago when they originally came out, I bought the shades "on and on bronze" (left) and "permanent taupe." (center) I use on and on bronze the most, whenever I do a brown smokey eye I put this on underneath and then eyeshadow over the top, this is probably my favourite out of the three as I wear this one a lot! I don't wear permanent taupe as much as I wear the first one but it is still really nice! It's also quite nice to try one that isn't shimmery! The one I bought most recently is "eternal gold" I will be honest and say that I haven't actually worn this one yet, it's just VERY gold and VERY shimmery so I haven't found an occasion to really wear it!

The staying power is great, they last all day and I haven't noticed any creasing! I would love to try the other shades although I don't think I would get much use out of the bright purple and blue! I think it would be great if they brought out more shades! I can't compare these to the Mac paint pots as I have never tried them! However I have tried the Benefit creaseless cream shadows, I find that the Benefit ones are a lot smoother in consistency and do feel more expensive if that makes sense! I do prefer the Benefit ones but if you are on a tighter budget I would really recommend these!

Have you tried the Maybelline colour tattoo's?

Jeffrey Campbell Lita's!

I have wanted a pair of Jeffrey Campbells for so long. Everytime I watch a video by Jess (sunbeamsjess) on Youtube of her with a new pair of them I am so jealous! The other day I just randomly went on the Office website and happened to see that the Taupe suede Lita's were half price down to £60! I was in shock! The lita's are the most popular and I never thought they would reduce them that much! I am not an impulse buyer but I immediately bought them right there and then! These were the exact colour, fabric and style I liked best and had wanted for so long! I usually HATE paying postage but just needed to shoes so didn't mind paying £3.50 to get them here!

The delivery was amazing! I ordered on Sunday afternoon, obviously they wouldn't be processed until the Monday. I got an email saying that the deliveries were taking up to seven days, I was expecting them to take seven days but I was surprised to find that early Wednesday morning they had arrived! I have always loved the Jeffrey Campball boxes, I was expecting the one with the girl and the cat but this box is SO cute!

They were wrapped up safely in tissue paper and plastic (I took this photo once I had opened and tried them on so they were wrapped a lot more when they arrived!) and so they were still in perfect condition! I fell in love with them instantly! Obviously because they are suede they are not quite as practical as the leather ones but I actually prefer the suede! Also as they are a neutral colour they are really wearable and go with almost any outfit!

On every review/video/blogpost I saw that everyone was saying how comfortable they are, I thought "how can they be so comfortable if the heel is SO tall?" Because of the huge platform on the front, your foot is hardly at an angle! It's just like wearing shoes with a really small heel, the only difference is that you are a lot taller! They are so comfy and the sizing is perfect, they don't come up too big or too small. I know with some shoes you have to sometimes go a size smaller or bigger but with these they fit perfectly.

I would 100% recommend Office, they kept sending me emails to update me on my package and let me track my order which I like to do. The delivery was super quick despite the fact they said it could take up to a week. I am already planning which Jeffrey Campbell's to buy next as they really are as great as everyone says! It depends which shoes will be on sale but I really like the look of the Lana's as my next pair!

Do you own any Jeffrey Campbell's or do you have any that you are particularly lusting after?

Week In Instagram Photos #28

Phoebe! // Tired Baby! // Phoebe's future career, nail technician!! Haha! // Watching my favourite episode of Skins! // My aunt made Phoebe a stocking!! // Smiley! // Geek. // Ugh so many psychology notes! // Cheeky Christmas present to myself! // Phoebe and her Granny Deb reading! // Going to bed at twenty to nine because I was fed up! // New Jeffrey Campbells, I LOVE THEM! // My new hair :) // Night before my psychology exam. // Cutie pie. //

For some reason I went crazy with the Instagram photos this week! I said on twitter that I was going to be blogging every day this week, I failed. It got to Thursday, I has an exam on Friday morning and just didn't have time. It's been so hard blogging lately with exams and working so hard as well as a few other personal things. I just haven't been feeling up to blogging, it takes a lot of effort despite what you may think. I take photos, edit them, upload and write a blog post. If I try and do a quick blog post I'm not always happy with how it turns out so prefer to spend more time on it. So just to let you know that I'm really sorry if I don't blog as much in the next few weeks ish. I have loads of posts with pictures done so I just need to write them so hopefully I can get those done :)

The Christmas Tag!

Image From Tumblr

I keep seeing this tag and thought it was my turn to do it!

1. What is your favourite thing about Christmas?
I love spending time with all my family, my family are extremely close so it's just nice to have an excuse to all have a get together! I also love buying people gifts, I am someone who puts so much thought into gifts, I always listen to what people want throughout the year and then find them something they love!

2. What is your favourite makeup look for the festive season?
I don't normally go CRAZY with my makeup on christmas as none of my family put much on, so I stick to my normal look with maybe a red lip!

3. Real of fake tree?
We have always had a real tree so there is no question here! The only think I hate about real trees is that the needles stick to my socks! Haha!

4. Giving or receiving presents?
Definitely giving! I put so much thought into gifts so I love seeing people's faces when they open them!

5. Do you open your presents in the morning or evening?
We open stocking presents when we wake up, have breakfast, wait a bit and then open my parents presents and sibling presents! We spread them out throughout the day! Then on boxing day, we have a 2nd christmas with all my mums side of the family, where we open each others presents from aunts and uncles!

6. Handmade or bought Christmas cards?
Both! I make some for close friends and then for other people I buy them!

7. What is your favourite Christmas film?
Every year me and my sister used to watch a film called The Greatest Store In The World! It's the best!

8. What is your favourite Christmas food!
I've mentioned before that I don't get too excited about any food! But I like yule log!

As always, I tag everyone!

The Weight Debate.

The other week I was reading The Daily Mail website (I know it's full of trash and I hate those kinds of press but I can't help myself!) and came across an article on Katie Waissel, if you don't know who she is, she was a contestant on the UK xfactor a few years ago! The article was titled "Abs-olutely tiny! Former X Factor star Katie Waissel shows off her super-toned figure as she gets to grips with LA lifestyle" I clicked on it as I was curious. When she was on the xfactor there was a lot of controversy going on as to why she was picked to go through to live shows. I did watch xfactor at the time and I personally didn't care that she got through but so many people HATED her and still hate her! I was reading through the article and got down to the comments section and was shocked to see comments like:

"Yuck too thin!!"

"Ew! She's disgusting!"

"Oh my gosh eat a hamburger!"

"She's clearly starving herself!"

I was actually shocked! I asked myself (and my instagram followers) this question.

Why is is unacceptable to write negative comments about overweight/bigger people (I agree this is wrong) however it is fine to leave downright disgusting comments about thinner people?

I was having a discussion on twitter with a few people about this and I still don't understand why people think it's okay! Yes, in our culture the thinner you are, the more "beautiful" you seem to be considered so people tend to feel like it's okay to say negative things, but surely you wouldn't write "oh my gosh, she's so fat! She needs to lose weight!" or "gosh, she needs to stop eating those hamburgers!" Because that is deemed "wrong" and "offensive." However surely it is the same thing, you are judging someone and criticizing them because of the way they look.

Another issue I have is when people use the term "real women have curves!" Umm, no. Are women who are size 4, 6, 8 suddenly invisible? I'm pretty sure they still count as "real women." I've always found that term really odd and I feel like although people focus on the negative comments bigger people get, they ignore the fact that so many people are downright horrible to slimmer people. I have known people get shouted at in the street and called an "anorexic bitch." I've had friends tell me I need to gain weight, (Although I'm not saying I am "skinny" or anything close to that!) I personally don't feel like my weight or anyone else's for that matter should be judged by anyone other than themselves! One of my friends had a comment on her facebook photos just saying "gain some weight!" I think it was one of her friends but it just angered me because I thought "why are you telling her that she needs to change herself?" I think people should focus on their own lives and let others get on with what they are doing! People really like to give their opinion these days on what others should do and because of the amount of magazines we have judging celebrities it happens so frequently. I personally never read "trashy mags" as I feel like they just emit negativity, although I read the daily mail website occasionally I read that for the real news stories and try to avoid celebrity ones.

Although it's hard to miss the front covers of magazine with cover lines like "*name of celebrity* has BALLOONED to a SIZE 12!!" Ballooned? Size 12? I have always been under the impression that a size 12 was small, my Mum is a size 12 and is skinny but she's just quite tall. Everyone wonders why five year olds (yes FIVE year olds!) feel like they are too fat because the media is saying that size 12 is massive when the average size for a woman in the UK is a 14!

I feel like there is so much negativity everywhere surrounding weight and there are always articles and adverts telling women they need to lose weight.

Please don't feel like I am only sticking up for "thinner" people as I know I went on a bit of a rant at the beginning, the comments I read on the article just annoyed me!

What is your view on this debate? Even if you disagree with anything I have said, please leave a comment as I love knowing other peoples opinions!

MAC Warm Soul Blush!

Mac Warm Soul Blush £19

Today's post is only a quick one! Just thought I would talk about my favourite blusher! I bought Mac Warm Soul back in June and I have honestly not worn any other blush! I tend to prefer mineralize blushers to normal ones as you get so many different shades running through them so they look so beautiful on the cheeks as apposed to a simple matte shade. This isn't a matte blush, so take that in to consideration if you purchase it as it does have a sort of "shimmer" to it, personally I love the look of it on my skin as it just adds a subtle glow to my skin. Although I think £19 is quite steep for this product, I do really love it and am currently looking into purchasing a few more! Oops!

Have you tried any of the mineralize blushers from Mac?
